YOUTH

YOUTH LESSONS

We teach kids balance and precision so they are water safe, faster.

USA Swim Academy is a highly-successful and reliable way for your child to learn to swim correctly, safely and quickly. Due to our warm water tanks and personalized lessons, we are often the place that “works” when other lessons have not. We’ve been teaching at our present location in Fort Collins for seven years and know how to make swimming fun while teaching balance, performance and safety.

We believe in the importance of learning confidence in the water

Four indoor, warm water pools help children quickly learn confidence in the water. Our private lessons and confident instructors lead even the most distracted kids into a lifelong love of aquatics. Our goal is to keep your child focused throughout the lesson and instill a love of the water and joy for swimming while teaching great stroke technique.

Kids learn from seeing

All of our swim tanks use instant video feedback on monitors within the pool and lobby areas. Kids and parents can watch progress immediately. Our pools also use mirrors on the bottom of the pool to help instructors and kids view their stroke technique underwater. Kids love to watch themselves swim, blow bubbles, and zoom down our river. Our instructors demonstrate correct technique and enable kids to immediately apply that skill giving them confidence and balance in the water quickly. Our video analysis is a way most elite swimmers train and improve their technique. This technology is employed at USA Swim Academy to enable kids to view their swimming progress, making them learn proper bubble blowing, floating, balance, and propulsion quickly and safely.

Parents enjoy watching as well

Parents enjoy watching their child’s progress via the video displays in the lobby as well as through viewing directly into the pool area through our numerous windows. Our instructors are always willing to share lesson skills and encourage parents to reinforce those skills at their neighborhood pools whenever possible.

Safe, balanced, and precision strokes begin at USA Swim Academy

Helping swimmers become safe in the water is just the beginning. The stroke technique and progression taught in our lessons prepare kids to join their local swim team and to make swimming a sport they can enjoy the rest of their lives whether for competition or recreation.

PRIVATE LESSONS

At USA Swim Academy we offer private, and semi-private lessons for children ages 3 and older.  The private and semi-private swimming lessons provide a more structured one-on-one or two-on-one learning environment. Semi-private lessons are for two children from the same family. These even smaller classes are perfect for siblings with similar swimming skills, children with physical or social disabilities, or those ready to progress through our skill levels at an accelerated rate.  Private and semi-private lessons utilize the pool mirrors, video, river, and swim aides. Our instructors will tailor the skills taught at each lesson to the physical, emotional, and/or social needs of each child.

SKILLS TAUGHT

USA Swim Academy teaches swimming with competitive strokes in mind. This means that we focus on teaching water safety while focusing on the four official competitive strokes: backstroke, freestyle, butterfly, and breaststroke. We want all our swimmers to know how to swim each of these competitive strokes competently so they may join a local swim team, compete in triathlons, or use swimming for lifelong fitness.

SCHEDULING

At USA Swim Academy we always have a rolling start date, meaning you can start your swimmer at any point. We schedule all 20 and 30 minute private lessons in monthly increments with a consistent day and time. Because our lessons are in such high demand, we recommend signing up one or two weeks before you want to begin. That way, we can find the private lesson length and time to fit your child and schedule. The monthly cost of classes is charged automatically at the beginning of the month and include 4 scheduled private lessons each month. This reserves your child’s spot in the lesson time until you notify us otherwise.
Our 20-minute lessons cost $145 for 4 lessons each month.
Our 30-minute lessons cost $220 for 4 private or semi-private (2 kids from family) each month.

CURRICULUM & CLASS LEVELS

We’ve developed our curriculum based on feedback from world class swimmers including Olympians as well as instructors trained in child development and teaching techniques. We also stay up-to-date with the latest in competitive stroke analysis and performance in order to provide the best in swimming technique from your child’s first swim strokes. Training correctly from the very start is the best way to help young athletes make the most of their God-given abilities and talents.

Swimming is the only sport that can not only save your life but is the sport you can do for life. We want our swimmers to become lifelong advocates of swimming and to develop confidence in the water that will translate to confidence in every aspect of their lives. Like a garden, we help plant the seeds, water, and tend the soil, desiring a wonderful harvest of productive, happy, and successful students.

Class Levels are used to evaluate the skill level of each swimmer but can be taught at any private lesson time. Therefore, if a swimmer was in our Class Level 3 group lessons previously, they will be taught at Level 3 in their new private classes until they move up to the next Level. We will be able to move each child to their next level without interrupting their private lesson schedule.

SUMMER miniCAMPS

USA Swim Academy are four consecutive days of swim lessons designed to function both as an introduction to USA Swim Academy and our specialized swimming progression, and as a way for beginner swimmers to continue building their swimming technique. We offer this program primarily during the summer months. It is a great jump start, or  four-day camp for beginner swimmers.

These will be 20 minute private lessons offered as 4 classes in one week, Monday through Thursday. MiniCamps will cost the same $145 for 4 lessons as our once-per-week 20 Minute private lessons.

TEAM NIGHTS

USA Swim Academy loves working with local high school, summer league and club teams. We use Team Nights to provide a great team building and technique-focused evening for your team. Each swimmer is video taped for 20 minutes in the water focusing on one or two of their best strokes. While not in one of our tanks getting stroke analysis, the rest of the team can be learning proper technique on our swim bench or working through an aquatics-oriented dryland workout in our Performance Academy shared facility.

SPECIAL NEEDS

USA Swim Academy has developed two unique programs specifically tailored to teaching clients with special needs. Our instructors go through specific USA Swim Academy training for teaching clients with special needs how to swim or to aid them in their therapy.

The Learn-to-Swim program is for individuals with the goal of pool safety and learning the strokes.

Aquatic Therapy Program

The Aquatic Therapy program is for children and adults with the goal of loosening muscles, building muscle tone, neurological stimulation, relaxation, etc.

OUR PODIUM CLUB

Just like Olympic athletes strive to earn a trip to the podium, USA Swim Academy provides a path for our athletes to earn their own Bronze, Silver and Gold Podium Club membership. We strive to have every swimmer learn to swim all four competitive strokes, Backstroke, Freestyle, Butterfly, and Breaststroke. As they learn the stroke and develop stamina, we will encourage them to swim 25 strokes, 50 strokes, and 100 strokes.
Each Bronze, Silver, and Gold podium level will have a specific achievement assigned to it. As swimmers progress through our levels, they can earn membership to the Podium Club in different strokes.
Each level offers 4 different skill opportunities. Earn one or all!
