FAQS

A. To register Learn to Swim lessons, please email us at contact@usaswimacademy.com. We would like to help determine which lesson length (20 or 30 minutes) is best for your child and or family.  If you have kids ages 4-7, they may be able to join one of our group level classes instead of a private lesson.
Semi-private lessons are available for only the 30 minute time period and both swimmers must be members of the same immediate family. We also recommend that swimmers sharing the 30 minute lesson be close to each other is swimming ability level.

We take new swimmers ages 3 and older but kids must be at least 4 years old to sign up for a group level class.

A. You can schedule competitive private lessons (those with video analysis) online (Private Lessons) or you can call us to schedule your lesson.

A. Please bring a towel, goggles, cap or hair tie (for swimmers with long hair), and a swimsuit. All of these items are available to purchase at USA Swim Academy. Swimmers who are not potty-trained, are required to wear an approved waterproof diaper.

We have a few goggles available for use. However, if your child is in a group class, please have them bring their own goggles so we aren’t spending class time adjusting multiple sets each week.

A. USA Swim Academy has changed its Makeup Policy after switching to 20 and 30 minute private lessons.

Each swimmer will be scheduled for four private lessons each month at a consistent time and day.

During the months containing extra days, the staff will use those times for deep cleaning and maintenance of the facility. We will also offer times for Makeup lessons for a minimal fee: $10 for a 20 minute lesson makeup and $15 for a 30 minute lesson makeup.
These lessons will need to be scheduled with the front desk.

A. At USA Swim Academy we have a rolling start date so you can start lessons at any point during the month/year. New swimmers join our private lesson plans every week.

With our new private lesson format, swimmers are moved up to their next level ability progression without having to change their swim lesson schedule.

A. We do not offer discounts for multiple children in the same family. However, our Yearly Membership Fee of $25 is a family membership so new swimmers can join throughout the year without incurring additional membership costs.

A. We are unable to have trial lessons due to scheduling difficulties. We will work with you to move a child if they are placed incorrectly or we will waive the two month minimum and enable swimmers to leave our lesson program early if needed.

A. Yes, we teach in these four USA Swim Academy pools within our facility because they are warm-water pools built with benches that go all around the perimeter and have a maximum depth of 3 ½ feet. All of our lessons are kept in this small space and comfortable environment. We also use a current in each pool that is turned on or off depending on the skill being taught. A bar attached to the front of the pool enables students to float with the current running and to work on their big arm strokes. Like our other technique building tools, the unique bar and current allow us to isolate different swimming techniques in a controlled environment.

When we host a Start and Turn Clinic, we will utilize one of the local competitive pools so we have access to starting blocks and backstroke turn flags.

A. Auto-pay is charged at the start of each month and covers the four private lessons provided for that month. If you want to stop attending lessons, please let us know before the end of the last month of your lessons. We will then remove your swimmer(s) from their future lessons and will terminate your Auto-Payment plan. Once you decide to return, you can call us to find new lesson time.
Our yearly registration fee of $25 may be charged if your absence is more than a few months.

A. USA Swim Academy requires 24-hour notice for single or package private lesson cancellations. These types of lessons include Competitive (video analysis), Adult learn to swim privates or any non-recurring private lesson plan.
AutoPay private Learn to Swim lessons require notice before the end of the month prior to stopping lessons.

A. We encourage parents to take their swimmer(s) to their neighborhood pools as often as possible. Do remember that these pools are different than the warm water, small tanks at USA Swim Academy and may be intimidating for your youngsters. Be patient and have reasonable expectations. Don’t force them to show off all of their swimming skills right away. Start off with some fun splashing first and let them choose when they are ready to show you their strokes.  Once they are comfortable they will want to show off what they can do.
